“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”
~Albert Einstein.
If this disorienting moment, reading the signs about the future is more important than ever.
Now is the time to be asking Big Questions.
At the Big Questions Institute, we're developing power professional learning programs for individuals and organizations
Futures Thinking for Educational Leaders: An Introduction to Scenario Planning During and After the Crisis (90-minute Webinar). This interactive session introduces practices and design techniques from futures thinking, change theory and global examples to help educational leaders plan with strategic foresight. Explore what it takes to lead into an uncertain future that is anchored in what matters most to you and your community.
The Big Questions: Scenario Planning for a Post-Pandemic World (Online, Two-Day Workshop). This two-day experience (three hours per day, spread through morning and afternoon; total six hours) will not only challenge you to determine your big questions, but it will provide you with a framework to engage in those questions in meaningful, productive ways with the diverse constituents. We will offer immersive personal and group engagement through the creative use of break-out rooms, interactive murals, flipcharts and other tools, as well as plenty of conversation opportunities.
New Leadership Lenses for a Post-Pandemic World: A Five Workinar Series to Frame the Future of Schools (Five sessions, available live and on-demand). This moment demands that any school leader thinking seriously about the future of their school and the prospects for their students must now recalibrate and reorient, to see the world as it is, not as it was. We need to understand new contexts, and build new lenses. Frame new questions for the future around these five powerful, and provocative, new leadership lenses: Purpose, Change, World, Power, Story.
Mastermind Cohort Groups These small cohorts (capped at 10-12 members) of school Heads and division leaders act as a cross between a coaching group and a cohort of critical friends where trust, safety, and leadership dilemmas are discussed, with commitments and accountability to one’s self . We have been running these cohorts for international school heads (you will notice the cost is subsidized by the association) and have been impressed by the learning, commitments, and genuine support that has stemmed from these sessions. Specific NYSAIS Masterminds could serve as a a great way to continue camaraderie and professional growth, with the specificity of members’ shared experiences.
New Leadership Lenses for a Post-Pandemic World (1 hour webinar). The five key drivers for education into the future. We've survived a forced reconfiguration of school. Now the question is, how do we thrive in the future? (This is the webinar you participated in today.)
