Are You Really Ready to Write Your New Strategic Plan?
Your current strategic plan may be ending, but given the pace and complexity of change in the world today, are you really ready to write your next one?
In order to create a relevant plan for three or five or more years into the future, school communities need to be clear on why they actually need a new plan. They need to ask what has changed and is changing in the world, in education, and in their local contexts, and why these changes matter.
In a moment of increasingly complex and fast change, however, most communities are finding it challenging to stay abreast of and understand the implications of those changes and therefore find themselves not fully ready to effectively plan for the future.
We help school communities understand the nature and impacts of change before they turn to the work of “updating” their strategic plans. Through audits, workshops, discussion sessions, and more, we collaborate with schools over six months to a year to focus on global contexts, develop shared language, build trust, develop futuring skills and new leadership dispositions, better understand responsibilities in light of DEIJB needs, build an abundance mindset, and more.

Be Ready to Write a Relevant, Impactful Plan
BQI is offering this engaging and intensive program for schools who are wanting to make sure their next strategic plan is as relevant and impactful as possible. It’s a deep dive into the contexts and changes that will drive your decision-making in the near and longer-term future that begins six to 12 months BEFORE you sit down to write your next plan.
Through a series of virtual and/or onsite workshops and ongoing discussions around curated resources and readings led by the BQI team, your school community will:
- Understand deeply the global contexts that are most impacting education and schools right now including the impact of new technologies, evolving school models, the move from sustainability to regeneration, the challenges to adolescent mental health, DEIJB needs and more.
- Develop key futuring skills and dispositions to better anticipate what's coming.
- Build and flex its imagination muscles to articulate a clear, aspirational vision forward.
- Develop the shared language necessary to achieve coherence in key areas like success, achievement, and equity.
- Answer the pivotal question “Who are we now?” in anticipation of articulating “Who will we become?” during the actual planning process.
- Build community trust in and excitement for the strategic planning process.
- Grow and nurture an abundance mindset.
